Fr. Bercier studied philosophy, theology and political science at Assumption College, Notre Dame, Boston College, Weston School of Theology and at the Ratisbonne Institute in Jerusalem. He taught philosophy and then theology at Assumption College beginning in 1985, but spent a number of years since then also doing pastoral work in Central Quebec, on the Passamaquoddy Reservation near Calais, Maine, and in Nuuk, Greenland.
